Last year, I posted about one of my holiday traditions, the wrapping of the presents on Christmas eve. The year before that I rambled on about how Santa did not wrap presents for me.

This year I'll talk about decorations. When I lived with my folks, we usually got the tree the week before Christmas. We had a ton of ornaments, but there were a few that each of us was responsible for hanging. I had the Disney collection and a Garfield ornament that only I could hang up! My mom had a set of unicorn ornaments. My dad had a few that were very breakable and little and his.

[livejournal.com profile] jimithingy and I have far less ornaments. We've been buying a couple each year but have not amassed the quantity of either of our parents. We have some Hallmark Ornaments - caroling Kermit, Shake It Santa, Tigger and Pooh in the snow, the Looney Tunes driving a sleigh and a sparkly snowman. We have a few handmade ornaments we recieved as gifts from [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy's family. He always puts his little mini-guitar on the tree and a few candy canes (we have Sweettart flavored this year). And lights! Just standard, no blinking.

We have a few painted Santas decorating the apartment too, gifts from [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy's aunt and mom. And a Santa cookie jar (which has yummy gingerbread, peanut blossoms and chocolate chip inside.)(oops, too late, I ate all the chocolate chip...mmmm, my favorite!)

Our favorite holidays CDs are Nat King Cole, Muppets & John Denver, James Taylor, and Brian Setzer Orchestra. We have a few homemade mixes too, with random songs from other artists (Bath & Body Works gave us a cheap 2 disc set the first year we went shopping together).

So, how does everyone else spruce up their living space for the holidays? Or do you choose not to? Share share share!!!
