Christmas has come and gone but I'm only just now really getting to go through all my goodies and play with them! But I thought before I disappeared into the DVDs and Xbox land, I'd share with you what I got! In Pictures!

First, Star Wars!!! My mom got me the most awesome Star Wars Pop-Up book, AD snagged me a cool Clone Wars Yoda patch and Yoda sticker PLUS an AT-ST model (he also got me some paint and glue to put it together with!) and his mom put a plug & play Star Wars video game in my stocking!

Next up, Beatles! In my stocking, I got a cool Beatles bag (maybe I can finally give my poor backpack a break!) and AD snagged me an awesome Beatles Anthology puzzle! I love the artwork on the CD covers so this should be fun (definitely more fun than that EVIL Lost puzzle I got last year!)

Now the electronic entertainment - video games! My brother got me
Mass Effect, which is good because he teased me with his copy when it first came out! AD got me the FULL version of
Sam & Max for my PC. My parents got us Wii Sports attachments that turn your Wii-mote into a tennis racket, golf club, and baseball bat (AD gives me 11 seconds before I break something with them). AD also got me a wireless mouse for my Mac book! And my mom signed us up for
GameFly (which if you're friends with me on Facebook you will know because it magically knew I had a Facebook account and started sending updates to it! WEIRD!)

DVDS! Keeping my BSG dvd set up to date, AD's family got me
Razor. Between AD's folks and my own, I managed to get both volumes of
The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. I cannot wait to start crushing on Sean Patrick Flannery again! Also, the special anniversary edition of
The Dark Crystal was under the tree. AD got me
Gracie's Choice a Lifetime Channel movie starring Kristen Bell!!! And bonus stocking gift -
Edward Scissorhands.

Now for some funny DVDs! Al and Julz got me
Knocked Up (which was funny because that is the movie I bought for them!)! AD bought me
Brian Regan : Standing Up which I had seen on Comedy Central when it aired early this year, and Demetri Martin's
Person, which I had not seen at all! (We did watch it last night though, pretty funny! He reminds me of Stephen Wright.) My mom got me
Rowan Atkinson Live on DVD, which is good because I'm pretty sure my poor VHS copy is dead...plus I"m too lazy to plug in the VCR again.

When the TV is otherwise occupied (I did get AD some video games and he got a couple DVDs from his parents so I can't just watch all 26 hours of Indy in a row!) I have lots of books to read! Pop-Smart books from BenBella always make me happy -
Psychology of Joss Whedon,
Neptune Noir, and
House Unauthorized. I also got
Undead TV and
The Physics of the Buffyverse for my "Academic Buffy" collection. AND AD got me a subscription to
Geek Monthly!!!!!!!!!!! I've already flipped through the first issue and I love it! It's a portable blog, so random and full of geekiness. haha. And no more crying how I can't find it when someone I love is on the cover (which seems to happen a LOT). Julz also got me
The Librarian's Night Before Christmas which is very
very cute and full of librarian humor.

Now say hello to my new little friends!!! AD got me my very own adorable Abby Cadabby!!! I played with her all day on Christmas. She's just too cute. AD's mom happened to get me a little mini-Abby. I think she will live on my desk at work. My mom got me my very own Knuffle Bunny!!! And Leonoardo the Terrible Monster (he's trying to make his scary face, see how terrible he is?). I love them all, they are so soft and fuzzy.
AD's mom also got me a couple "Chuck" tops, ala
Pushing Daisies. Very retro looking and cute! My parents got us a
Flavia Coffee Machine! INSTANT coffee! Or hot coco, or cappuchino. Oh it is TROUBLE ! Let me tell you. And they bought me a travel mug (ORANGE!) to go with my car so I can fill it full of instant caffeine, then drive to work, and run around the library.
All in all, I made out like a bandit on Hazelnut Coffee yet again! And I still have gift cards from
blu_harvest and
simontrueheart that are burning a hole in my pocket right now, and some cash from AD's grandma and great-uncle. On top of that, my mom found an old Borders gift card she had never used from last year and just gave it to me (she won it at work) and she also found an old Chilis gift card!!! SCORE! (There's a Chilis in the mall where we go to the movies, we love to snag some nachos then see a show).
Okay, I'm going to go play a video game...or watch a dvd...perhaps read a book. Or maybe just stand here indecisivley. Or have some coffee... (Or Ice Cream, AD got an ICE CREAM MAKER! w00t!)

Date: 2007-12-27 08:22 pm (UTC)I will have to keep an eye out for that AT-ST model. I build my dad models every couple months, 2 of which were Star Wars, so he would really like that.
And also, I had no idea that Brian Regan had a new DVD?! I have "I Walked On the Moon", but have not seen this one! Have you seen him live?? My parents have seen him twice, and I've seen him once (I was still in high school the first time they went, and I was too young to get in, lol).
Sounds like you had a great turn-out, good to hear!

Date: 2007-12-28 04:43 am (UTC)I've seen him twice, both at the D.C. Improv, and I think his brother opened for him once too. So funny. I wish they would put his original show on DVD. I have the CD but I want to see it again (my theory is that he's embarassed about his 80s hair).
We just watched the DVD and the "bonus feature" is the encore to the show. Brian clearly had nothing planned so the audience just starts yelling out "TAKE LUCK!" and "YOU TOO" and he does the bits and he's cracking himself up. It was very odd. It's one thing to be a rock star and have people sing along, it has to be weird to be a comedian and have people request you tell the same joke over and over!

Date: 2007-12-28 02:27 pm (UTC)I love the plural one. "I have 2 boxen of donuts" hahahaha. I remember one year in high school (I want to say sr. yr.), we had a sub in band class and Vincent brought his Brian Regan cd, and we sat in the practice room listening to it the whole time, lol. I was so excited, because up until then, I didn't know anyone else had heard of him. Ahhhh I love Brian Regan!! I will have to put that DVD on my list!

Date: 2007-12-27 08:43 pm (UTC)Yeah, I saw that you added BioShock to your Gamefly queue! Facebook beacon is so creepy...

Date: 2007-12-28 04:45 am (UTC)stalkerbeacon feature pops up and says "Gamefly sent Bioshock to your Facebook profile" or something and I'm like "WTF?!"Considering I had to fight with it to notice when I posted on LJ, it was far too excited about posting my video game rentals...
