Okay, what the heck! I went to bed "early" last night (12:30, no reading or anything) and I slept until noon today! What is wrong! I wanted to wake up and feel refreshed but instead I woke up feeling groggy. Yuck.

So getting up at noon I had no motivation, though it was a beautiful day out. I opened up every window in the house and wrote 3 thank you cards for graduation presents. Cut up some old magazines and filed the pieces appropriately (that sounds psycho) then watched 2 Buffy episodes while I ate lunch.

So I'm reading "Fearless" which is a Young Adult book series that the WB has decided to turn into a series this fall starring the girl from "Joie and the Pussycats". In the book, the premise is that this chick Gaia is born without the "fear gene". I don't think it works and I think in the end it makes her a less interesting character. If you think of Max from "Dark Angel" or Buffy, they do all these kick ass things, and of course they are scared, but they still do it and keep their wits aabout them and that makes them cool. So far, in this book, Gaia is supposedly "Fearless" when it comes to picking fights with skinheads but she seems to be constantly worried about boys and high school. So she's really not totally devoid of fear. Seems she has a fear factor. She is not afraid to get hit in the face. But is that really a good thing?

But from the 30 second promo you can watch at thewb.com it seems that maybe they gave the plot an overhall, or at least skipped this awkward first installment that is coming off more as annoying whiny teen "I don't fit in" angst than a herione I'm prepared to root for. But I like Josie. So I shall watch the firs episode. Maybe 2. Just in case. Smallville looked dumb and it's first season was pretty awful, but it's getting better...slowly.

About Smallville - what the hell is gonna happen next season! Clark has severed all ties with is friends and family and rode off to Metropolis on his motorcycle. That's crazy! Mom thinks he's gonna spend the first half of next season living in the city. It has been said by the writers that they plan to have him bump into Bruce Wayne. That might be intersting.

Speaking of Batman, there was a very subtle joke in the episode of "Angel" I watched today. It was the episode 2, season 1, and Angel pulls out a hook to shoot up at a window to climb through it. Very similar to the seen on the first Batman movie, he shoots it up at the window and the girl he's with says "Who are you?" But instead of cooly gliding up like Batman did on film, Angel prepares to be lifted but instead yanks down a good chunk of the ceiling. The girl, instead, shoots the lock off the door with her gun (she's a cop). Hm, that makes 2 batman references in one episode, because now that I think about it, Doyle said Angel needed business cards because he didn't have a big signal they could shine in the sky. Clever foreshadowing of humor to come? Or do I just over think all my TV shows?

Nick just sent me the entire Whiskeytown album, which I am enjoying but am too lazy to add the mp3s to my winamp so I will burn it tomorrow or the next day.

Bedtime. Gotta be perky DJ girl tomorrow!
