Eliza is still very pointy, but nowhere near as pointy as "Sierra". Pretty sure if you rubbed up against that girl, you'd get a nasty cut!

Still avoiding the casting info on Alpha so DO NOT POST IT HERE! Please and thank you. :D

- nice bit of bonding between Dr. Amy Acker and Boyd, Echo's handler (slowly learning names). Though I fear for the safety of Amy's character - I just read on Whedonesque that she's signed on for a role in another tv show. Not sure how big a part...

- I was very surprised by the reveal that the Russian was, in fact, a doll! I did not expect that. Finally, Dollhouse catches me off guard. Makes me want to watch more episodes, even if this one wasn't the best thing ever.

- Echo's nod to Sierra as she passed her in the Dollhouse was interesting. Is this more left over memories from before, knowing that Sierra's handler made that comment about Echo rubbing off on her.

- More info on Boyd and how he differs from the average handlers - i.e. he more than a Watcher, he still wants to solve crimes.

- I hope we see more of Helo Paul's neighbor. She seems like someone we should know more about.

So, yeah, not the best thing on TV but I can't give up hope. AD just commented that the show needs to include more of the main arc, but I'm sure FOX thinks we're too dumb to follow the complicated season-long plot that is planned so its been dumbed down to a drop per episode. But that is what we need to see! Like [livejournal.com profile] cheshire_c said, what is the point of watching if there is no character development? (FOX's reply? boobies!)

If you haven't read today's Penny Arcade comic, and the post that goes along with it, you should. Gabe and I clearly have a few things in common (my statue is silver though). Tycho is clearly struggling too, otherwise he wouldn't have bothered linking to Hulu...I'm sure they get pings for how often the show is linked to, no matter what the context.

I've been reading your posts before I even see the Dollhouse episodes, admittedly. FOX is not my favorite station as when they have sometimes some really great gems, they've been canceled too early. So I'm skeptical of this series, even if it is by one of my favorite creators in all of that is television, I'm still skeptical.

I'll guess I'll wait and see. ;)

might be worth it, if only because the ratings are apparently very bad so it might not even last a season. Save yourself the heartbreak.

omg i was just loling at the PA comic. You know what honestly, if i wasn't a die hard Eliza fan i couldn't watch the show to be honest. I can't focus when shes off screen pretty much. Hopefully fox will give the show breathing room to grow before any stupid premature decisions to can it.

I'm guess if it wasn't for the Joss/Tahmoh/Eliza factor, I would have given up by now. The sad part is even if the story does get better, Fox will probably cancel it anyway, why break with tradition now?

yeah, i like the concept of Dollhouse, but i kind of feel like... Eliza is not that great of an actress to pull it off *ducks to avoid shoes being thrown at my head* i kind of feel like she is the weakest point of the whole show.
all of the points you mentioned above i agree with/enjoyed about last nights show.

I won't throw any shoes at you for that one. I like Eliza well enough but I agree that she's now the tour-de-force actress that some would make her out to be.

Yeah Mellie (if I remember correctly) was originally cast as another Doll, but one that just went on social missions. I really, really, really want to see more of her.

I missed this episode, but I'll be hitting Hulu tonight to catch up and write out my thoughts.

I'm more scared for Amy's character considering she is listed as Guest Star at the beginning of every episode :(

As soon as I saw Sierra I thought of you and the points. She is uncomfortable to look at, it's pretty sickening really. SAVE ME FROM THE POINTS, can't we go back to actresses who have to gain weight to be in Joss's shows?

I was happy to see a few twists in this episode, with the headshake to Sierra and mr-russian-doll (I dub him Matryoshka).

I agree with AD, I hate complete one-shots, gimme da arc!
