So, I decided to see what the Playstation HOME was all about, so I logged in and made my little avatar. I don't really get it. It's like the Xbox community but one step further (too far?) where you actually walk around as an avatar and talk to people. I dunno, it's a bit too Second Life for me.

And, because it is a video game world, as soon as a FEMALE avatar walks in, all the guys run up to you. No joke. Soon as my girl was wandering around in the Central Square, these two dudes are suddenly by my side all "Hello!" "Wanna dance?" "Have you been bowling?" And the funny part is, to initiate the text chat, you have to stand really close to the person, so not only are these random strangers talking to you, they are all up in your face! haha.

I swear, as I was logging out, I saw these two guys talking to a female avatar and these were the bubbles over there head -
"I'm a stay at home mom"
"u married?"

seriously guys?

I did go to the bowling alley though. There were some random mini-games in there. It was amusing but then I realized I was using my state-of-the-art PS3 to play the equivalent of Breakout so I left and went back to playing my real games.

We also figured out how to get my PSP to talk to the PS3...though we have no idea what they are supposed to be talking about. But apparently I can now download PSP demos thru my PS3 so that is pretty sweet.

Also, there needs to be a way to export your SackBoy in his/her current outfit to the internet so you can show off the adorableness. Ah well, I'll just take some literal screen shot with my camera next time she's striking a pose.

oh, and if you have a PS3 and want to be my Friend (not that I have many games yet) you know the username. *wink wink*

I had a helluva time making a Home avatar that wasn't completely hideous. And I had a bunch of guys flirt with me too; it wasn't until after I signed off that I realized Dan and Julian were sitting with me and that they could have yelled into the mic and seriously freaked those guys out... haha.

Yeah, I got into it and it reminded me of Sims...but with less interesting characteristics. I prefer the cartoony avatars of the Wii and Xbox. I am not too fond of "life-like" avatars. My girl is pretty much straight outta the box, very little tweaking.

I just find it amusing that they assume we actually are girls! I mean, there's no law that we have to make an avatar of the same sex. AD made a girl with pigtails and a short skirt (I mean, you spent the whole time staring at your avatars butt, almost makes more sense to have it be the opposite sex). He said guys starting coming up to him and chatting. I said a girl dressed like that in a video game - they should know it's a dude behind the wheel!

OMG! I'm so confused... I remember Atari (but I LOVE Sims2). I hate being the in-between shit. (GenX, *sigh*)

Seriously, I barely know what the frak you're talking about but if you're good, I'm happy! ;)

Sims 3 comes out soon! Sadly, my PC is so old, I'll have to build a whole new one (well, AD will have to build it for me) to run it...but it will totally be worth it! I loves me some Sims. I had all of the add-ons for Sims 2, just so addictive. I'm sure I'll lose a huge chunk of my life to Sims 3...but I don't mind. haha.

I had an Atari as a kid too! River Raid was my favorite game. I'm waiting patiently for someone to remake it for these new consoles haha.
