so it begins...
Jan. 11th, 2004 02:57 pmI created a Sammy Z in Top Spin....she just beat 2 Pro-Am tournamets...she's got 2 stars in Forehand and Backhand plus 1 in Serve and Volley...I was going to try to get her a sponsor but my thumb is starting to cramp up. hehe.
Adrian went to bed super early last night so I watched Two Towers with the cast commentary. Not as funny as the first one but it still had it's moments. Sean Astin kept ranting and I think Elijiah Wood was about two seconds from hitting him. The guy who plays Gollum is goofy...Merry & Pippin, well they were just silly the whole time hehe....The guy who played Wormtongue was amusing just because he sounds soooo different when he's speaking in his normal voice....
The most fascinating thing to me was how often the actors got hurt! You don't really think of acting being so dangerous...at least, not to the point that you hear people going "Oh yeah, Viggo had two broken toes this day..." or "here's the day I broke my sternum...right there when I wince, it's cuz I'm in pain"....or "right here Viggo got his tooth knocked out"....madness....but very cool. I wish I could be an actor. They do seem to have fun...it was nice to hear them complain a bit so you know it's not all just partying in New Zealand, but on the whole they seemed to really enjoy themselves and their company.
I got a "The Quotable Slayer" yesterday while we were at Borders...now I can create away messages and e-mail signatures in no time haha. Usually I have to go watch a DVD or search thru my Watcher's guides....now it's all right here! bwhahaha! Also bought myself the "Jim Henson's The Storyteller" DVD....good times..."Soldier and Death" is still my favorite but I'm happy to have the others since I let Ms. Jack borrow my tape back in 12th grade and she never gave it back! (along with my 15 Minute Hamlet! ARGH!)
We also went to Hot Topic yesterday as Adrian wanted to get one of their goofy Nintendo shirts. They are awesome but so many are in black and he can't wear black....so we got a blue one with a little chemistry bottle on it that says "Level Up"...they also had new Last Unicorn shirts so I had to get one of those...plus a Fraggle Rock and Zelda patch....though I realized after we got home we have no thread or needles....
Amazon.com e-mailed me and said that The Last Unicorn will be out on DVD in March!!!!! I downloaded it awhile ago when I was reading the book and I just love it so I'm really excited that I can get it....though it's post-birthday....guess I can use birthday cash to order it....it's only like $10....sweet...they are going to make a live action version of the book very very soon, so they are probably releasing the cartoon on DVD so people can buy it when they get all nostalgic after the "live action" one comes out. http://www.the-last-unicorn.net/index.htm
This is so close to reality it's eerie http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php3
