My favorite movies of 2009

All the "best of" lists for the year are popping up, so I thought I would toss in my vote for my favorite movies from 2009.
Best Romantic Comedy:
A sweet little "not-a-love-story" movie. Probably one of the most "chick-flick" kind of films I've ever liked. Who would have thought the awkward kid from Third Rock from the Son would become an indie film darling?
Best Science Fiction:
This movie was so intense. It's the kind of film that follows you around for days after you have scene it, the images were so graphic. Plus, I like my Science Fiction to be a metaphor for some deeper issues within society. This movie made me feel bad for an alien that looked like a cockroach and that is pretty impressive.
Best Action Movie:
Let's face it - Star Trek might take place in outer space, but the newest movie was a straight-up action flick. And I loved every minute of it. And I love how all the advertising is different once you've seen the film and know the plot. I mean, "The Future Begins Now" - LOL! Abrams & Co. did such a great job keeping the twists under wraps.
Best Bro-Mance:
We just recently rewatched this movie with Amy & Joe and it was still hilarious. Rudd & Segel are comedy GOLD! We still quote it around the apartment, and that to me is the sign of a good movie. This movie was so much smarter than you would have guessed, playing with the entire romantic comedy genre, making it centered on two guys, but not making them despicable.
Best 2D Animated:
I am just so frakkin' happy that this movie turned out as well as it did. I grew up watching Disney cartoons...heck, I have most of them on DVD now and I still watch them! There's a certain kind of magic to those old fairy tales, and something mesmerizing about the 2D, hand-drawn artwork that is put into them.
Best CGI Animated:
What can I say that hasn't already been said about this beautiful movie? I hope Pixar always puts this much heart and soul into their films.
Best Comedy/Favorite Movie of the Year?
This movie should not have been as good as it was. I mean, look at that poster - It's called "Zombieland" and it stars Woody Harelson...in a cowboy hat. So many red flags. But I laughed SO hard the entire movie! And talk about quotable! CARDIO! LIMBER UP! DOUBLE TAP!
