Well, I was supposed to spend the evening playing Sims 3: Ambitions but the UPS man decided to come by the apartment at noon (who the heck would be home????) and then not leave the package at the office like a normal UPS man. So instead I found myself floundering around. I played a bit more of Red Dead Redemption...I'm a pretty crap cowboy. I've died at least twice, lost the race to Bonnie (pretty badly too), and managed to not-save at least two people that I was supposed to save...oh and my bounty got away before I could shoot him. Not gaining that "Legend" status any time soon, that's for sure. But the game is fun and very very pretty.

I may have a crush on Mr. Marsten. He's quite the roguish looking fellow and he's got a gravely voice. When he retires from bounty hunting, he should read books on tape...or record...or telegraph, whatever was around in the 1800s...

It's funny because it's really just GTA in the Wild West, so instead of fast cars, I'm stealing fast horses. But for some reason it doesn't bother me as much. Maybe because it's acceptable to think of the West as a wild and uncivilized place filled with lawlessness that only one man can control...and just depressing to think of our major cities the same way.

Whatever. I'm on a horse.

I've collected at least 32 stars in Mario Galaxy 2. That game is so fun! I LOVE that you get to play as Luigi for a few levels. Luigi is my homeboy. I don't know why, maybe because he wears green, maybe because he's the underdog...I prefer Luigi to Mario. Even if Nintendo insists on making him look like a dufus (PROPAGANDA!!!!) I know that he's actually much smarter than Mario.

Finally got around to watch my Close Encounters of the Third Kind on blu-ray. I hadn't seen that movie in forever. At least 10 years, maybe more. The blu-ray was gorgeous. I watched the Director's Cut (the blu-ray had 3 different versions but this appears to be the best). It's such an odd movie because it feels more like a documentary than a film. I mean, for the last 30 minutes, there had to be barely any dialogue, certainly almost nothing from the main characters. Just the music. And it just sort of ends.

I should get the other side of Spielberg vs. Aliens when 'War of the Worlds' arrives on blu-ray later this week (got it free with credit card points!).

Frak, is it really 11:45? I should probably get to bed.

OH! But before I go, my friend/Libraryman Andy just joined Livejournal. He's an author-in-the-making and he likes to blog about random stuff, but mostly he posts on books. It's not f-locked so you can take a look. [livejournal.com profile] andy_wolverton - pop in and say hello!

I'm currently hovering around 60 stars in Super Mario Galaxy 2. It is really fun! (More fun than the original to me.) One particular star is giving me trouble, but from the sounds of it you haven't unlocked it yet, so I'll keep my mouth shut for a while. It's way more fun to discover it yourself.

I honestly don't get deliveries. No one is home during the day unless you work at home, don't work, or are sick. O_o

60 stars! Damn girl, you are a power player!!! I wasted a lot of time trying to do a Comet timed level...the first one with the chili peppers. Made it ALL the way to the end and could not get that damn star!!!! So frustrating!

Teehee.. I didn't get much time to play Ambitions last night, but I'm already loving the tattoos.. XD

Another one you might want to check out is Alan Wake for 360.. we're not too far into it yet, but it's creepy and awesome so far.

And yay Close Encounters of the Third Kind!! I'm jealous of your blu-ray version of it. I might just have to add that to my wishlist. That's one of those childhood movies that just never gets old for me. (Jaws too.)

Still no sign of UPS man...might be waiting until tomorrow to play Ambitions. *sigh*

WTFrak is 'Alan Wake' about? They were all "oooh Alan Wake is COMING!" but never actually said what it was. I know it didn't sell as well as they had hoped since they've been hyping it up for at least a year. But it's fun? Is it like Silent Hill?

Yeah, it's kind of Silent Hill-y... an author whose creations try to off him in a dream-state. It's deeply freaky. Gorgeous game though... great atmosphere in terms of both visuals and sound.

My old manager at GameStop was raving about Alan Wake when I ran into him at Wal-Mart. I had no idea what he was saying at first.

He said it was creepy as hell and he played in the daytime after his first night playing. lol. I am still playing through freakin' Dragon Age over and over.
