More random fangirling

orangerfulI did NOT know that AMC was making The Walking Dead into a TV show. That is awesome. I read the first few trades in the series and really enjoyed them. I need to pick it up again, especially now that I have a decent comic store that I go to on a semi-regular basis.
It's got all those elements of 28 Days Later with creepy zombies, but even more messed up people. It's about the survivors of the zombie apocolypse. And really, the zombies are the last of their worries because they can avoid them pretty easily. It's the tension in this group of random individuals shoved together out of desperation that makes the story to great. We don't really know what kind of people they were before the zombie's took over....
Yeah, do yourself a favor and pick up the first trade (it's only like $10 cover price) and give it a read. Good stuff...mmm...October, so after my Vampires go away (True Blood), it will be Zombie time!

Date: 2010-06-14 08:26 pm (UTC)Ahem, sorry. I'm just a smidge excited. But yes!!! io9.com's been having great coverage, and you will not be disappointed if you continue on with the books. It just keeps getting more and more intense.
They keep saying disturbing things like "six episode series" though, so I'm hoping it's just six to start, to expand into FOREVER.
