Finally watched Kill the Moon and...I dunno, I think I might be done with Doctor Who. It wasn't a bad episode, but it felt like ground we had already covered multiple times with 10 and 11. I have the next episode ready to watch but I'm just sorta..meh about it.

On the other hand, I did keep going with SHIELD (had it on in the background while running around in Final Fantasy) and I feel like it's setting up some interesting plot lines.

OAUT is still just a show. Not compelling enough for me to get excited about but it makes for good breakfast watching.

And coming completely out of left field, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles SHOCKED me with a twist ending. I was not expecting so many feels from a Nickelodeon cartoon!

...er, I guess Korra is back too? Haven't watched any of the new episodes yet. Whoops.

S.H.I.E.L.D. does have some interesting things going on. I like that they're on the fringes and don't have this big agency backing them up - they're almost semi-renegades.
Some of the plot lines don't interest me all that much though, but I'm still watching.

yeah, it's an interesting twist. I just hope the show doesn't get held up like it did last year, treading water waiting for the next Marvel movie to come out before revealing a big plot twist. :-\

I started Shield again, but On Demand, so I have to keep watching it from the beginning each time I get interrupted.

I haven't managed all of the first episode yet.

The first season was definitely hit or miss. You could probably google and find the episodes you should watch, because the ones that actually pertained to the arc were good.

Yeah I really didn't like Kill The Moon either. It was kinda forced a really out of no where for Clara to have those feelings suddenly when she's be in a position like that before and hadn't even though twice about doing something.

Really liking this season of SHIELD so far. I had a hard time keeping up in the first season but I'm just so invested now.

Exactly, it's like the people writing this season have somehow completely forgotten EVERY. OTHER. SEASON of doctor who **sigh**

The best part of that is it seems like Moffat has a say on ALL the episodes. It's been so and so AND Moffat.

I really like the new Doctor, I really don't like Clara and the relationship between her and the Doctor. It makes the show more difficult to watch. I'd rather he just leave her on a planet and have done with it.

I'm really interested in where they're going to take SHIELD this year!

OUAT is on my "to start" list but I like watching that one in clumps so starting may happen in December.

Yes! I love Capaldi and I actually like Clara, but for some reason the writers have made it their mission to ruin the relationship between them. I can tell they think they are being clever, leading up to something but 1) we saw all this behavior with 10 in his post-Rose years and 2) the whole "big reveal during the last episode" schtick is getting old.

OUAT is a good show for background noise LOL. I tend to watch it while doing other things. It just never engages me too deeply, partly because of their insistence on stupid flashbacks ALL THE TIME.

I find when show creators and writers think they're being clever they usually aren't. It's frustrating as a viewer to have someone doing a "look, look here! Do you see how important this is" when I want to be able to say "yes, I get it, I got it four episodes ago, let's move on now shall we?"

Exactly! Also, when creators are tricky on purpose because they don't want the viewers to figure out the twist and then it just becomes a convoluted mess (this is my theory behind why the X-Files alien plotline is so messed up)

I think Xfiles got messed up due to overcomplicating things and also because they didn't have a show bible. I think Chris Carter used to brag about how he didn't use one... which means the writers had nothing to keep the stories coherent as they got more complex.

I'm also not a fan of when creators get tricky so they think things have to totally come out of the blue to surprise the viewer when no, I'm happy to not be surprised if the show is done well. I do not like a surprise that comes out of nowhere because when you look at it the twist really makes no sense.

I'm waiting for season four of Korra to be done before I watch. I enjoyed watching season three all at once (over a couple days), so I'm going to do the same for four. Now if only my Tivo would stop helpfully recording it for me!

I should give SHIELD another chance. I wanted to like it so much, but I disliked it from the first ep and gave up somewhere around ep five. :/

I'll probably wait for Hulu to get the episodes as I have issues with Nick's website for streaming. Always seems to glitch on me!

SHIELD is ok, it never really gets beyond ok. But you can probably Google and find a list of the top episodes from Season 1, safely watch those, and move on LOL.

I'm gonna wait for them to show up on Hulu. For some reason, Nick.com doesn't stream well for me and it really breaks up the mood when it glitches! :)

Does "OAUT" refer to Once Upon A Time? I've watched some trailers for that and seen tons of gif sets on tumblr, but never really been compelled to watch it. The Frozen storyline/episode(s) (?) look good, though.

LOL yes **facepalm** I r not a gud prufe reeder :P

It's a solid show? Not amazing but not horrid? Season 1 was probably the worst season, but I'm always impressed with the choices they make at the start of each year to shake things up. That being said, I find I have little or no attachment to the actual characters. Fun stories are told, but I'm not really sad when someone leaves...if they do leave. Which they never seem to actually do!

It's a common enough mistake to lead to the actual thing if you Google it XDDD;

Ah, yeah.. that description matches up well with the impression I've gotten from the gif sets I've seen <,<;;;

heehee, I may not have liked that episode but I always enjoy a good meta!! I have an entire bookshelf of pop culture essay books hehe **reads**

And you got a Buffy reference in there too! 10 points to Gryffindor!

Capaldi's Doctor is obviously having a crisis of identity, they have made that very clear. Seeing images of 11 from "Beast Below" and the "we don't walk away" quote in the discussion of an episode where he did walk away and was going to let humanity get away with whatever...I know it feels like this is all building up to something but I think as a faithful viewer of the show for the past few years, I'm getting tired of the build up episodes. I know Moffatt's routine and I'm tiring of the "i'm going to be clever, just wait!" I don't mind the clever, it's the WAITING that is becoming unbearable. Especially when the clever ends up just being overly complicated rather than actually clever.

Well if you don't like it, there's not much I can do.

However, I wouldn't characterise his actions as 'let humanity get away with whatever' - he left Clara is charge, trusting her absolutely. And considering how he sued to think himself the centre of everything... Well, he's come quite a long way. :)

Personally then I like it all very much. (As you could no doubt tell.) But to each their own.

ETA: And thank you for saying nice things about my meta! ♥

You're welcome! I do love reading things like that. Like I mentioned, I have a bookshelf full of critical essays of Joss Whedon's shows and a few other Smart Pop collections and even if I don't agree 100% with what an essay says, it's always fascinating to read different people's interpretations of the shows. They say no two people read the same book and I sorta feel like that is probably true of many movies and tv shows too! :)

Honestly, even if I don't keep watching Doctor Who, I would be interested in reading our metas!

I just wish we could retire the flashbacks. I know they are keeping the entire bad wig industry afloat but I'm starting to feel like it's slowing down the series more and more.

Really? I think I'd prefer the whole series to take place in the Enchanted forest. Storybrook is so boring in and of itself.
