I've started watching 'Coupling' ! A co-worker lent my the season 1 dvd and I loved it! It's just so ridiculous! I know they attempted an "american" version but can't imagine them capturing the utter silliness of the show. Plus, there's no way they'd get away with any of the jokes on American TV.

Honestly, I never would have picked it up if she hadn't told me about it. The whole premise just sounds awful - a comedy about nothing but sex? How's that gonna work? But it does!

Also, for all your Captain Norrington fangirls out there, Jack Davenport plays the male lead in the series. And apparently the female lead, Sarah Alexander, will be in the movie version of Neil Gaiman's 'Stardust'!

In other fandom "squee" inducing news - Warren Ellis took pictures of Joss on his camera phone, and there was much rejoicing. Or at least giggling. How cool is it that these two guys are hanging out together?

And to top that off, [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy informed me that Warren is actually writing the TV show version of 'Castlevania'. Now THAT could be interesting. Or a total disaster. Either way, amusing.

You are clearly not geek enough. Bryan Hitch was in the room with them, and you aren't squeeing about him.

*shame*

Not only is he one of the coolest comic artists out there, having done both The Authority and The Ultimates, but he's the conceptual artist on Doctor Who! And he's in the room with Joss and Warren!

Now I want to see a Joss-scripted, Hitch-drawn comic. Any comic. Barbie's Dreamland or Care Bears, you know? Just anything, but done by those guys.

Now I'm wondering what Warren Ellis would do if he was writing the Care Bears.

Warren Ellis & Care Bears...yes, I actually want to see that. See what's really going on behind those fluffy exteriors!!!

Yes, my comic book geekness is still focused on the writers, though I'm learning artists names slowly but surely.

Weird that you're talking about Coupling, because I just bought Men Behaving Badly Series 2, and there's a trailer for that show on the disc, and I watched it only last night.

Eeeeeerie....

dear lord, I love British Coupling. LOVE. I was a fan before they tried an american version. I was hopeful, but not naive about it. I mean...British humor doesn't tend to go over well with the majority of Americans--especially since they had to tone it down for American TV. THe funny thing was the script was almost WORD FOR WORD of the first episode of the British/Original version. One of my goals is to own that whole series. XD

Always makes me laugh when people are like-- OMG NORRINGTON IS HAWT! Cause he will always be 'Steve' to me. hahahaha. Steve is...well....STEVE. XD Even as Norrington I see Steve instead and giggle. haha.
