Yatta!

You know...I didn't really notice Hiro saying "Yatta". I still associate the word with this video that simontrueheart showed us a while back. But when he yelled it in the "previously on" clip before today's episode, I heard it and realized that it was, in fact, an exclamation that he just says (according to some crappy free Japanese to English dictionary I just googled up it means "done"...anyone confirm or deny this?)

Anyway, to all those people who I assumed were obsessed with half naked men singing in Japanese but were in fact quoting Hiro, my apologies.



Let me say, I am SO happy I DVR'd this episode. If I had to sit thru all of those commercials I would have gone bonkers talking to the screen. Instead I was able to zip to the next part. Now I'll only go bonkers waiting for next Monday.

- So, G'ma Petrelli...wonder what her deal is. Is she one of Linderman's friends that "lost their way"? Is her power the ability to sense powers in others (since she said she knew Nathan and Peter had powers before they did)? I'm not sure I trust her. Nathan either. His heart is in the right place, I'm just not sure his head is.

- Poor Isaac. That had to hurt. But we knew it was coming. Did he really paint the Sylar pictures?

- Speaking of, I kept cheering when Peter was taking on Sylar. I was so proud of him for finally getting the hang of his powers!

- I feel bad for Mohinder; once again he is being played for a fool. And I think he knows he's being played but can't quite figure out what to do about it.

- Next week - The Future! And it's not looking so good. (except for Peter's hair...that looked a little better.)

ok trying to avoid the spoilers. i'm still catching up the previous episodes but with everything going on it will take me a while to catch up and i may just start watching the new episodes when i get back b/c i just realized the cd i had with the episodes 1 through 10 i packed in the box i'm shipping home so won't see it for like 2 months! oops! haha. the box is already sealed.

anyway, "yatta" is a common expression used by japanese, i hear it here a lot. for example, in class with my students we were playing a game and a student did well or won and they would yell "yatta!". i don't know the literal translation, not in my japanese-english dictionary. guess it's kind of like jap slang.

hey - maybe you could give me a run down of what's been going on in the heroes episodes? i think the last episode i saw that girl took the drugs to do a painting b/c the guy couldn't do it without drugs, so the father made the girl take drugs to do the painting so he could figure out what's gonna happen to his daughter. that's the last thing i remember watching.

oh and hiro "disappeared" to try to bend time to save the girl who died at the diner they were eating at and he said he would be back in 5 seconds but he wasn't.

omg so much has happened since that episode haha. I'd have to go watch them over myself! I guess the whole streaming video from NBC's site only works if you're in the US? I heard someone tell me you can't watch them if it hasn't aired in your country...but you could always try!

Oh maybe there's a Wikipedia entry with episode rundowns - that seems to be the in-thing these days. :) but I really think you should hold out and watch them.

FYI, in my understanding of it "Yatta!" gets used as a general exclaimation a lot...kind of like a "Woohoo!" or a "Yay!"

I totally saw the Nikki-Jessica/Candice (I think that's her name) switch thing coming. Just like as soon as Mama Petrelli starting weeping over Dead!Peter I started yelling "PULL THE GLASS OUT OF HIS HEAD! PULL IT OUT!"

Speaking of...it sounds like Mama Petrelli does have a power too, and that's she's somehow linked to Linderman (after all, The Haitian seems to be working for both of them?), but i have no idea what her power might be.

Sylar/Peter fight? BEST THING EVER. Sylar's gotten scary good with his TK, hasn't he? (I love how he apparantly didn't absorb Issac's artistic abilities along with his power tho. hee!)

Poor Mohinder. I hope he doesn't wind up getting hurt too badly by this (...am I sick puppy if I had a very special reaction to Sylar saying "I'm not done with him yet" when Peter pulled him off the ceiling...?)
