Complete Copyright (tm)?

So, my first textbook arrived today. I borrowed it from the Eastern Shore library system. It's called "Complete Copyright: An Everyday Guide for Librarians".

I'm already chuckling at the chapter titles, is anyone else amused by these?

Maggie Discovers Copyright [she's at that experimental age]
Professor Kahn Exercises Fair Use [oh does he? Tell me more about how he exercises it...]
Veronda Donates Books and Videos to the Local Library [yeah, don't do that, please for the love of GOD I DO NOT WANT YOUR OLD VIDEOS!]
Ben's Interlibrary Loan Request is Denied [THE HORROR!!!!]
Lena Posts a Website with Hyperlinks [that slut!]
Charles Seeks Permission From a Copyright Holder [thats my mom's job actually...]
Walter Clicks "Yes" to an Online License Agreement [Oh Walter! You crazy kook! What have you gotten yourself into!]
Lola Lola is an Advocate for Balanced Copyright Law [I bet she is...nudge nudge wink wink say no more]

The best part is each chapter has a little fold out page that goes on to give the story behind each of these titles. Maggie actually has a DREAM about the creation of the copyright.

Classes start on Monday (which translates into that I can actually log into the Blackboard site and SEE the message boards). I'm excited. I hope I'm not overwhelmed with work and such. October is going to be insane!!!

i hope modern copyright law for literature isn't as screwed up as music copyright law.

Oh, it probably is, now that we can photocopy, scan, fax, post online etc. just about anything. :\ I'll find out soon enough!

Yes, for some odd reason, the head librarian in the book is named Lola Lola. No idea why.

hey, how come my books don't come with such a simple title and cute chapters...ok, haven't really gotten them yet...but, they such don't come with such simple titles...what classes are you taking...I am doing Info Resouces & services, Intro to info system analysis, and prof/soc aspects of info services...good luck on monday...i am excited and nervous...how about you...

The other book I have to get does not have a fun title...I can't even remember what the title is now, but it was insanely long and very boring sounding. haha.

I'm taking Info & Resource Services I (Prof Harvey), Action Research & Statistics (Prof Grillo), and Prof/Soc Aspects of Info Services (Prof Greenlee).

I'm excited and nervous too! Just getting back into the whole "school" mindset will take me a bit of practice. But I think it will be a lot of fun. Good luck to you too!!
