Well, we definitely did our part to help the economy this weekend!

AD convinced me to go out on Black Friday. We didn't get up early or anything, just left around 11 to pop into Kohls and managed to snag some new silverware, which we desperately needed. Plus, AD got himself some new jewelry and a cute pink Abbey Dawn dress (FYI if anyone sees the Abbey Dawn hoodie w/ headphones at their Kohls in XL, WE NEED IT!)

Then we went to Arundel Mills, which is our HUGE outlet mall by us. Got a really cute Tinkerbell tree topper and AD upgraded to a smartphone - he got a Sidekick because he thinks they are cool (I think it is because Veronica Mars used one....)

We also went to Michaels and bought a bunch of picture frames on sale, so what would have been $200 was about $60. Now to find photos of people we actually know to fill them with (though some are for my autographed photos from Dragon*Con).

Saturday, we went to the Shakespeare play in DC (As You Like It) and had lunch at Jaleo. Then on the way home we stopped by Hallmark and snagged two new ornaments - Snoopy and Woodstock playing guitar, and Ecto-1 (which plays the Ghostbusters theme). Then we bought enough cards to get a stuffed toy Snoopy that "plays" Christmas carols on the piano. (Though I have to say, the boxed cards were pretty lame. I'm going to see if I can design something for the holiday cards this year...we'll see how that goes!)

And today I tried to stay home! I did! But then I get a call at 2pm from AD and he's tell me about this awesome couch he found at Valu City. Our current couch was from 1974 and had 2 huge holes in the seat cushions. So we needed a new one. So we went over and it was half off! We convinced Amy & Joe to help us move it to the apartment (Joe has a van) and now we have this glorious thing you see in the picture. It's HUGE but it's so nice that there is space for everyone - even the kitties!

Erm...I have no frakkin clue how we'll get the tree in later this month...we'll worry about that when it happens. But right now - COUCH!

Got my order from Kohl's today, about 50/50 on what worked and what didn't.

I'm really torn about this dress. It fits kind of weird, like it might be too big around the top, but the middle seems just right and I'm afraid to go a size smaller...but it's so damn cute!!!!

Plus, look at it - doesn't it seem like there's a costume in there (yes, I have a one-track-Dragon*Con-mind, and I will until...well, probably for the rest of the year!)? I mean, even some sort of Buffy thing...jellibean said there is a Buffy prom, I could totally wear this!

I'm going to try it on again when AD is around and get his opinion if it is too big or just plain funky.

And for those of you that don't care about my clothing issues - OMG PLUSH TALKING YODA WANT!

Okay, not that bad. But it was really slow at work tonight and I spent a lot of time browsing Entertainment Earth's Anniversary Sale. At first I convinced myself I needed to buy some BSG posters, but AD managed to talk me down from that ledge (would have been @ $60) and I got what I came for - back issues of Buffy Season 8. I ordered issues #16-#23 so I will be all caught up. Hopefully, I will remember to go to the comic store when #24 comes out. I also picked up the Buffy comic Omnibus vol 2, which was 50% off. I probably already own the comics in the collection (one of my Star Wars buddies, Tim, gave me all of his Buffy comics for safe keeping) but I'd rather read them in this format so I don't have to worry about damaging the pretties I have.

I DVR'd the premiere of 'Parks and Recreation'. I hope it's funny! AD is working on homework now or I would watch it.

Oh, and all this hullabaloo about FOX not airing "Episode 13" of Dollhouse (see fandom_mania for the low down) - here are my thoughts:
If what the E! Online article says is true, than this episode was probably a lot like (as girly_scribbles said) Restless - a coda to the end of the season but not necessary for the season. I'm not surprised FOX would hesitate to run the episode, considering they think all their viewers are morons anyway. If their imaginary audience can't follow Dollhouse, I doubt they think they will understand an abstract episode that has nothing directly to do with the main storyline. Plus, Joss didn't whip out Restless until the fourth season of Buffy, when he knew his fans were mature and loyal enough to follow the randomness of that episode. I'm not sure Dollhouse has matured enough as a show to handle an episode like that.

*sigh* Just another reason to buy the DVDs. Can't really officially judge this "Episode 13" issue without having actually SEEN the episode - that's the rub. At least the show hasn't been cancelled...yet.

So, Target and Wal-Mart did not have season 1 of Gilmore Girls on sale (Target did have Season 3 of Veronica Mars on sale for $18.99 though, so I now have the entire series on DVD).

And somehow, when I got home, the collector's edition boxed set accidentally fell into my Amazon cart and then somehow I managed to click order now...you know, like 4 times, and whoops I ordered Gilmore Girls from Amazon. So I should have all 7 seasons in 5-9 business days.

Yeah yeah, I'm bad. I'll regret it in October but that's a month away. Right now I just want to get my GG on!!!!

So, apparently you cannot use Kohl's Cash in the online store. ARGH! I just spent an hour browsing the online store for clothes so I could spend the $30 in Kohl's Cash I got yesterday and it turns out I can't even use it!

I found some really cute shoes and a dress and a top and I found a coupon that brought it down to $75 so I still had free shipping and I was all set to go...and now this! BLURGH! Oh that makes me angry. Stupid Kohl's Cash. And you KNOW the store won't have any of those items.

Maybe I can be really obnoxious and take a print out of my shopping bag into the store and see if they have the things I wanted in the inventory...if it is not thunderstorming when I leave work tomorrow, perhaps I will do this...

Today, the short version:

Renewed our lease early so we could get a month of free rent (woohoo, no rent in June!)
Went to Arundel Mills with heiland_coo. We ate lunch at Baja Fresh. Neither of us had been there before. Not sure I really liked it. I prefer Chipotle. It was crazy in there though.

Saw The Other Boleyn Girl at 1:15. I shall rant about that 2 hours of my life I won't get back later. I know lots of you have seen it, anyone want to link their reviews for me so I don't have to go digging?

Oh, before the movie, some guy did one of those movie trailer survey things with me. I got to watch the trailer of some movie called "TAKEN" with Liam Neeson and Maggie Grace (who, when he asked me if I knew the name, I confused with Maggie SMITH! So embarrassing. So now they have a survey with me saying that Maggie Grace is an amazing actress...IT IS LIES! I WAS CONFUSED!). I gave the guy some feedback on the trailer. The movie looked okay. Nothing great, but Liam Neeson, always a plus.

Then we wandered the mall and spent money. I had a $10 rebate coupon for GameStop so I bought AD his very own copy of Call of Duty 4 for Xbox360, bought myself Sims 2: Freetime, and a rechargeable 360 battery. I had 2 $10 coupons for Victoria Secrets (because I have an Angel Card and it was my birthday month, I never shop there unless they send me coupons) so I bought 10 pairs of underwear (and the Spice Girls hits CD...it was only $5!). That should do me for awhile. Then we wandered over to Starbucks and got caffeine. While in the Cafe Mocha daze, we went into Best Buy. After watching OBG, all I could think about was how much BETTER Elizabeth was. They had it for $10 (seemed to be the magic number today) so I bought it.

Then I got home and the Internet was down yet again, so I did homework. My website for INFO 652 is almost done, just need to add some images. The free demo of Dreamweaver would not run on my computer so I ended up handcoding it because I do not like FrontPage anymore. I have 6 out of 7 IPL questions done, and I claimed one tonight so I just need to finish that question and that project will be finished. And I have my Final Exam for 503, which I have not started because I read the questions and said "WTF?" and put it back down. That will be Sundays project, I have decided.

Now, off to bed with me because I have to work tomorrow. There is a baseball tournament or some nonsense, which means I'll be giving all the varsity kids/parents/coaches dirty looks when I arrive because they insist on parking in the library parking lot instead of the high schools. UGH! But whatever. It will just be heiland_coo and I, so I'm sure we will just laugh it off, shake our fists, and get on with our lives.

HUZZAH! My MacBook shipped today! From China! I have the FedEx tracking number so I can obsess over how it's not moving all weekend long. Estimated delivery date is Sept 18th!!!

I just went through and did the online submit for my rebates. Now I just need the Macbook to get here so I can cut out the UPCs and get my money back!

I ordered Sims University and Sims Pets with the gift certificates. I like 'Open for Business' but I decided I'd wait and get that for xmas. Plus, I want a kitty and a puppy for my Sims to love!

I think I'm going to just start over too. I could try to transfer my old Sims over, but I think it will be best just to start with a clean slate, a new town, make some new faces...so that means I can destroy all of their lives this weekend and them delete everyone when my Limited Edition boxed set arrives! bwahhahahahaha!

I'm not sure what it's doing outside. It is very cloudy and gloomy. I think I'm going to heat up some leftover homemade pizza...

The guy who runs Time & Space Toys / Buffy Collector's Club is a saint. I swear I email him 3 or 4 times every time I sit down to place an order, asking him random questions about specials and such. And he always answers to quickly and politely. I just want to get the most toys for my buck. (especially when it's a buck I've already spent - like my gift certificate I'm currently trying to redeem but it won't go through).

They are good peoples there.

They are also trying to keep the Buffy action figure line alive. I hope they can at least convince Diamond to make a couple more awesome figures before they put the series to rest. Just one or two to top it off.

oh well, I was going to sit here and wait for a reply email but the free shipping offer is valid until tomorrow at midnight, so I'll just order the stuff then. toodles!

Okay, this is so not cool - Diamond Select Toys has said they are cancelling the latest wave of Buffy figures. The wave I pre-ordered almost a YEAR AGO!!! And that has been delayed at least once. Ugh! I just want my gorram figures! They were supposed to be out this month and suddenly this! Just not cool.

They cancelled the "Revamped" series, but they just annouced that, so it's less of a shocker, and I don't think anyone was impressed with the figures. But this wave everyone has been waiting for! Ugh ugh ugh!

To make it worse, I've already PAID for these figures! Paid for them way back when I pre-ordered. Time & Space Toys says they are trying to work with DST to get them to release the figures, but I have a bad feeling about this :\

I was able to find all the make-up bits for the Scarlet HiP look EXCEPT restless #918! Which is the main eyelid color!!! We went to Target - sold out. Wal-Mart - sold out. Walgreen - laughable selection. Giant - non-existent (we were on a Giant run anyway, these other stores were just on the way...sort of)

So now i have to stalk Target to see when they restock their make-up aisle.

Oh, and just to cause more confusion, the picture that was on display at Wal-Mart had Scarlett in a green eyelid color! Completely different than what was on the website. And it looked cool but it's a bit more "whoa green" than the color in the image I'm going by. Either way, I don't know which of the greens it is (okay, that's a lie, I'm pretty sure it's #314 "rebel").


Oh well, I'll play with my shiny lipstick until I find the rest of the ensemble...
