Challenge #4

In your own space, create some goals.

In 2020, I dived into the world of tabletop and roleplaying games headfirst but I haven’t actually played that many yet though, so for 2021, I want to play the games I bought last year.

(that…isn’t all of them…)

I went a little wild on Kickstarter while I was working from home so I will have even more games arriving over the next few months. My goal is to play them all and then blog about the experience here.

Small selection of my Kickstarter Backed Projects

I also got into painting miniatures. I’m not actually using them for games, just enjoying the chill times of painting for fun. One of my Christmas presents was a nice paint set for minis so I am committed to it now. I backed the Kickstarter for Sea of Legends and…yeah, that has a LOT of minis so that should keep me busy once it arrives (hopefully February!).

I’m setting my GoodReads goal for 2021 at 50 books. I had a lot of trouble focusing last year, but I am hoping that this will change as the months go on. I have binged a few graphic novels already though so my goal has some padding to start. If I feel like I can read like I was before 2020, I might up that number but 50 seems good to start.

I also want to do a rewatch of my movie collection. It has been awhile since I revisted a lot of those films and many of them I saw in the theater, LOVED, bought the disc…and then never bothered watching again. I want to see if they have withstood the test of time. I’ll try to post about them on here, or at the very least update my Letterboxd on a regular basis.

When I first saw this “challenge”, I didn’t think I would have any goals, but now that I have typed these out, I’m feeling pretty good about the nerdy, fandom part of my soul having plenty to do this year. Do you have any fandom goals for 2021?

I have no plans on leaving LJ, but that doesn't mean I won't wake up and find it has disappeared, especially with the way things have been the past few days! I've had a Dreamwidth account since 2009 (another big LJ scare) so if you want to add me there, please do. I probably won't post unless LJ forces my hand, but I don't want to lose touch with any of you lovelies!

My only real resolution/goal for 2017, or at least my most ambitious, is to have more gatherings. I tend to only have people over for the obvious birthday party or new year's eve blow out and that really isn't enough time with my friends! And if they can't make it to those few events, I never see them! So this year I plan on having some kind of gathering once a month. Simple things that can bring us together. February is going to be Galentine's Day, Leslie Knope style! March will be a game night or maybe a Rock Band party, April will be a nerdy Shakespeare party, May will be a Star Wars Anniversary party (I acquired a copy of Harmy's Despecialized Edition for A New Hope, cannot wait to watch HAN SHOOT FIRST BWAHAHA!). That's as far as I have gotten in my party planning, apart from the obvious Halloween party in October.

Plus, I know a few of you are in the area or will be in the area in 2017 so I'm hoping to meet some LJ peeps face to face! (and I will alert any of you if I am near your home...that sounds creepy, but you know what I mean!) If one of the above mentioned gatherings sounds like fun, you're invited! :D

I want to keep working on graphics and such. Tim and I both got each other new monitors for Christmas. This was not planned at all! So now I have this beautiful, 24-inch ACER and it is GLORIOUS! But it also means I need to make new desktops to fit because all of my old ones are from my teeny tiny monitor. #nerdproblems.

Also, check out my awesome mug! :D

I'm excited to wake up tomorrow if only because I want to drink coffee out of this awesome mug !!! Thank you @timrvf 😍💕💕
