orangerful: Santa Yoda felt your presents (holidays)
I know for some of you it is already the 26th, but better late than never right?

I hope everyone had a lovely holiday. Things were a little crazy here, but it all seems to be wrapping up well. Lots of eating and hanging out. Minimal politics talk and only one time where I was directly addressed and then I Snopes that shit and was able to debunk the foundation of the "outrage". I mean, I'm a librarian, it's kind of my thing, looking up the sources and seeing if the facts are straight.

Got to play a couple of games of Flashpoint, which we bought for Tim's sister's family. I think they liked it so hopefully they play it again.

Tim's family got me The Outer Worlds for Xbox which I am very excited to play. They also got me some earrings, which are way too nice but I'm just going to wear them. Tim thinks they have real diamonds in them but I'm going to pretend they don't so I actually use them otherwise I'll just put them away. They also got us and his sister's family the same stuff for the house which I always have mixed feelings about but whatever. Gotta be grateful, right?

Then we went over to Tim's aunt's house (my aunt-in-law?) and that was really nice. I adore Tim's cousins, they are both these really sweet guys who are just willing to chat with me about random crap LOL.

Tonight I learned about the Bigfoot Field Research Organization which is run by a guy named Matt Moneymaker. I also learned about ice climbing. That a bear fell asleep in a spare truck tire and was then driven to another part of the state only to awake in a JC Penny warehouse. And then Uncle Lowell talked about how he both does not believe in ghosts but that he also some some weird stuff while out camping one night.

Good times.

Sylvia bought us matching Christmas pajamas but decided at the last minute not to wear the pajama pants so here we are wearing our matching shirts in front of the tree.

Tomorrow we head back, but first we will stop and visit our friends in Chicago and then we will find a hotel somewhere in Ohio.

Anyway, my computer is still on Maryland time, reminding me that it is really 11pm and not 10pm like my phone says so I should probably go to bed sooner rather than later.

And to all a good night <3

LEGO Rose and LEGO Kylo Ren ship

Rose minifig and Kylo Ren's ship!

You know, I will never argue that 'Last Jedi' was a perfect movie - it was not. It was far too long, needed a lot of tightening up in some of the plot lines. BUT I never had a problem with Rose and I really liked what they were doing with her and Finn up to a point (because omg that whole plot line got out of hand, where was the editor? And was the editor related to Benicio and just didn't want to take him out of the movie? Because he was unnecessary on so many levels).

Anyway, I was happy to see this minifig! Yay Rose!

And Kylo's ship is cool too. I always had a soft spot for it because the design was clearly inspired by the Imperial shuttle from RotJ. Something about those big, ridiculous wings raising and lowering. Again, there is a reason Star Wars is considered fantasy and not sci-fi - pretty sure this ship makes no sense.

My Mom brought over not one but TWO LEGO Star Wars advent calendars on Thanksgiving (apparently she bought one for me last year but forgot to give it to my in a timely fashion).

Here are the two LEGO Star Wars mini-vehicles from the advent calendars - a believe it is a Star Destroyer and Luke's Landspeeder.

I love how LEGO is smart enough to include extra pieces too. I've got a little baggie by the calendar to put them in so I don't lose them!

I think I might take the 2018 calendar to work with me to just give me something fun to do every day, a little "brain break". It's good for me!

A friend on twitter just alerted me to this free, printable cuteness:

World of Moose Advent 2019

Yes, it says "Advent Calendar" but there are plenty of unnumbered penguins that you could easily alter this to become a countdown to the new year.

Print one out for yourself and let's color and reflect as 2020 approaches. <3

A Merry Christmas!

I don't know if you believe in Christmas,
or if you have presents underneath the Christmas tree.
But if you believe in love, that will be more than enough
for you to come and celebrate with me.

For I have held the precious gift that love brings
even though I've never saw a Christmas star.
But I know there is a light, I have felt it burn inside,
and I can see it shining from afar.

Christmas is a time to come together, a time to put all differences aside.
And I reach out my hand to the family of man
to share the joy I feel at Christmas time.

For the truth that binds us all together, I would like to say a simple prayer.
That at this special time, you will have true peace of mind
and love to last throughout the coming year.

And if you believe in love, that will be more than enough
for peace to last throughout the coming year.
And peace on earth will last throughout the year.

Happy Holidays, you lovely people! No matter what you are doing tomorrow, I hope it is a wonderful day for you!

Thanks for participating in the collaborative playlist experiment! It was so much fun, I think I might do something like that on a regular basis, in some shape or form.

If you want to listen, I have now made the playlist "public" so it should be accessible to all Spotify users.
Here is the link!.

I wish there was a way to share the playlist for everyone to hear...I guess I could recreate it via YouTube or some other service. I will look into that for the next time I want to do a group mix. :)

1. Egg nog or hot chocolate?
I enjoy them both, but I find that egg nog really hits my tummy hard (or maybe it is just that Tim is too generous with the Southern Comfort when he mixes it). So I'd probably opt for some nice hot chocolate.

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
Santa does NOT wrap presents! (I realized how genius this was of my Mom after trying to wrap some of the larger, awkwardly shaped presents I have purchased for people over the years).

with photos because why not! )
