my brain is so fried. I just worked on homework for the past 3 hours. I did statistics stuff, which would not have been so bad if the assignment didn't have 40 different "people". I am still figuring out the whole frequency, mean, mode, variance etc.. stuff and when you make a mistake with 40 different things to correct...it takes awhile. I need to buy batteries for the graphic calculator too. Using the computer one just takes forever. Plus, I was supposed to square a bunch of stuff and it was just annoying to type the number twice every time.

Then I switched over to the Ref course where we are learning Dialog. It's an old-school kind of database search machine. Reminds me of the time I tried to learn HTML and then [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy introduced me to FrontPage. I still have my little bit of HTML knowledge, but THANK GOODNESS that I have FrontPage or I'd never get anything done. I mean, this Dialog is fine for this class, but I am SO happy the library has normal databases for me to use for patrons. Dialog is hardcore though because it searches a bunch of databases at once time. But it looks like an MS DOS program.

Seriously, if you want to find an article, you have to type something crazy like this:

?s kristen(w)bell AND heroes NOT veronica(w)mars

and it's reply would be something like

s1 200

And then you've got to work from there and narrow it down before you can type in the code to see the citations or whatever.

It's just silly because you need to have about 10 different windows open while your searching - the Dialog program, the Dialog helpsheet site that tells you what hte codes are for all the different search terms, the specific page for the database you want to search to see what number it is for that...

It's clearly meant to be used by business people. It even tells you how much your search cost you. Luckily, Drexel is footing the bill. Still, talk about pressure!

I think I'm going to go watch 'Dexter' and let my brain shut down. I'll finish up this homework tomorrow and Friday, because Saturday I work and Sunday is 'Taming of the Shrew' and the Shakespeare Theater, yay!

Hm...I need to make some sort of school related icon for posts such as this...

Well, Drexel sent me an email today saying they got my 'Intent to Enroll' form. I faxed it over Saturday morning. So I was just able to log into the website and set up my student accounts. Only thing is (and I realized this after I set them all up) I still have not received the official paper acceptance package. My guess is it will arrive tomorrow. I mean, I got the acceptance email Thursday night, and with it being a holiday weekend...yeah, so I'm hoping it will arrive tomorrow with the lo-down on what courses I need to register for. If not, I will send my advisor an email! It's so crazy to feel like a total newbie again!

As predicted, the printer will arrive first. I got my shipping notice this afternoon and according to the tracking numbers, the 37 lbs package (aka the printer) will probably arrive tomorrow. The 1 lb package (aka the Video iPod) will arrive Thursday.

My MacBook Pro is still waiting....But I want it now!

I've decided to wait on Sims 2. I've spent way too much money this month of practical and non-practical things. Santa can bring me the Sims, I can wait a few months. I need to go get a haircut and I have a doctor's appointment next week and those are things that really need to happen, as opposed to the total want factor that is Sims 2.

Sadly, I think I'm going to put my WoWz count to rest for a bit. I don't think I've played in over a month. I feel bad about it, it was one of the few games that [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy would play with me, but now he's so far ahead of me, and he's hardcore into the guild so oh well. I wish I could just play with Inara and Katchoo and Griddie offline...make a little gnome village for them to live in. *sigh* Just need to let my credit card take a break for a bit. I know the characters are not immediately deleted, so maybe I'll just let them sit for a few months and get the urge to slaughter kobols again.

EDIT: Okay, I just went to cancel and apparently I missed the billing date by 2 weeks, so my account is good until Feb 2008. *headdesk* So, in February, I'll see if I still play the game or not.

And now, I must go to bed because I've thrown my internal clock off by staying up way too late this weekend. I must got to bed at the "correct time" tonight!
