I love my husband. He's a pretty chill guy, a nice foil to my over-excited self. He's good at staying level headed in most situations. He's a librarian too, so pretty quiet overall with an introvert streak.

But oh my god, when he plays the Madden football video game, you would not believe the strings of profanity he screams at his team when they make a mistake LOL

And he is so sudden with his screams, he makes me jump! I mean, I was DOWNSTAIRS and I heard him yell out. Cat jumped up off the couch in terror.

Only problem is, he does seem to be a bit cranky after a rough game. Takes him awhile to even back out, he kinda pouts for a bit.

As usual, I didn't read the ol' friends list Friday-Sunday and I just spent an hour trying to speed read everyone's posts! SORRY!! I commented when I had something to say but otherwise, I'm not going to lie -

Forgot to mention this last week but PINK HAIR!

Listened to the new Wombats album on repeat all week and I'm still loving it. They just have a fun sound. I am loving my Spotify subscription and I am considering keeping it after the discount period ends because 1) I hate music radio because it is the same crap ALL THE TIME and so hard to find new music 2) listening to NPR more than once a week makes me depressed and 3) being able to find new music by new bands or new music by bands I like that would never be played on the radio is a better way to start my day. So keep any suggestions coming of new bands/music/singles.

The weekend flew by but mostly because we may have imbibed a bit on Friday night so we slept away a good chunk of Sunday. It was funny because we had a couple glasses of wine and Tim brought up YouTube on his phone to play an old Shin songs for me that he had recently heard and then we fell into this weird pop/rock/alternative hole which then slid into this nostalgic 90s then 80s music video trip LOL. But it was fun to just be silly and dance around the A-Ha way too loud at midnight. THIS is why we bought a house, right? :)

Also, I apparently LOVE Zinfandel. I just gets you the right amount of tipsy.

My brother did the mandatory check in the night he arrived at Navy basic training - they have a strict script that all the recruits have to follow when they called home. So she got the call and he said "I'm here. I'm safe. You'll be getting a package from me soon. I will call again in 2 weeks." and then they have to hang up and hand the phone to the next guy. It is SO WEIRD in this world of being constantly connected to friends and family to suddenly be so cut off. I mean, other people leave for college or new jobs etc. but they can email you updates or post online about how they are getting by each day. But for this, nothing. It makes sense and I'm sure he's too busy/exhausted to post anyway (he barely posted about things when he was here!) but it is so strange to think that if I texted or called, no one would answer.

ANYWAY this is a busy busy week
  • Elementary school visit tomorrow for their Guest Reader Day

  • Leadership Training on Tuesday

  • Crashing a Community group meeting on Wednesday (they are using our meeting space so I'm supposed to go in and be a mole)

  • Eye exam + training on how to work with the homeless on Thursday

  • ESCAPE ROOM on Friday

It is all good because next weekend is my BIRTHDAY weekend. My birthday is on Sunday so I have taken off next Monday as my Birthday Observed. Which works about because Tim's daughter's birthday is also this week so we will be celebrating her birthday on my birthday when it comes to birthday dinner. So Monday will be my pick. Or Saturday. Not sure which. I flipped my schedule around to do the Escape Room program so Saturday will just be Sylvia and I without her Dad so maybe we will get up to some shenanigans - like sushi for lunch or a movie or something.

Have a lovely week everyone!

And now that I've friended new people, I am going to run away for a week! :)

The cabin we booked for our honeymoon says it has WiFi but, really, why go on a honeymoon in a cabin in the mountains if you're just gonna fiddle on your phone?

Be back Thursday! Everybody stay awesome. <3 <3

Finally watched the premiere of American Horror Story: Hotel and I was...underwhelmed. I don't think 90 minute was necessary, or at least they didn't make good use of their time because I did spend a good portion of the episode wondering how much longer until it was over. This already feels a lot like Asylum to me; too much going on, not enough focus on plot, too much focus on being "edgy" (and by edgy I mean disgusting)

I had seen this article while browsing online but had not read it, but as soon as I saw the episode, I knew exactly which scene the writer was going to talk about. After the Hannibal-like murder scene, the audience was warned that something awful would happen and to have this creature raping someone with a silver unicorn horn dildo...I just...that's not horror to me. That's just being disgusting.

I'll give it a few more episodes. I feel like maybe I should just skip every other episode...except Wes Bentley is so nice to look at...maybe I'll just watch until something bad happens to him.

Also finished Broadchurch Season 2 and OMG WHAT A SHOW!!!!! I doubted they could even do a second season but it blew me away. I can't decide if I want a Season 3 or not...I'm worried they will eventually take it all too far. Plus, I sort of want everyone to get on with their lives now.

Caught up on iZombie tonight, which is off to an okay start.
I am SO glad that Liv is not hiding her zombie-ness anymore. Though I am still annoyed that the show still seems to be about her eating brains and acting weird. Major's storyline (well, him taking the Utopia) makes me think of Reilly in Season 5 of Buffy...which doesn't bode well for Major.

Apparently, tomorrow the new Star Wars trailer is going to air during the football game. My geeky Star Wars friends are already complaining about having to watch some random game LOL. Alas, I'll wait until it is up on YouTube...or maybe I will avoid it and stay totally spoiler free. (Like that is possible, the poster came out today and it was on in my Facebook feed about 10 times, sheesh!)

And for those of you that don't watch TV, here is my magical wedding band that glows in the DARK! I know you are impressed!

So we thought we were pretty much set for the wedding on Friday...and then while I was soliciting suggestions for restaurants in the Annapolis area, a friend pointed out that this weekend is the annual boat show.

The boat show that pretty much shuts down all of Annapolis as people try to get to the harbor.

And then I Googled and saw an article saying they sold a record number of tickets.

Needless to say, this morning we were scrambling for other options. But, as luck would have it, there is a little wedding chapel in Crownsville, which is about 30 minutes away, same distance as Annapolis. I contacted the officiant that runs the chapel and she replied immediately and said they had an opening for Friday afternoon! So the crisis has been averted!

And for those of you that love pictures, my Mom decided to hire a photographer at the last minute. We have the chapel for 90 minutes, so she just hired the photographer for an hour, keeping the cost low. So we should have some good photos, hopefully!

Now I need to figure out how to style my hair...and do make-up...well, they can just photoshop that later, right? :P

Aren't you guys happy this wedding is over and done with on Friday? I'll stop filling up your LJ feed with this nonsense.

OH AND IN MORE IMPORTANT NEWS ----- ROCK BAND 4 SHIPPED TODAY! I should have it tomorrow!!!!!!!!! I"M SO READY TO ROCK OUT!

I'm also playing Dance Central again in an attempt to get in shape. I got a little overzealous today and told it I wanted a 30 minute workout...then died after about 15 because the game gives you ZERO breaks when you're in workout mode. Tomorrow I will do it in game mode so I can have a moment to breath between songs. I'm also going to hook up the Xbox 360 Kinect because the DC game on Xbox One does not import your DC1-3 tracks, only things you purchased. So I have a total of 12 songs on there now, vs the Xbox 360 where I have probably 40 tracks.
