both [livejournal.com profile] dstntp1lgr1m and [livejournal.com profile] spitefairy have talked RPGs at me this week, and it made me wonder - when the heck is Zelda: Twilght Princess coming out!!!! Haven't we waited long enough Nintendo! I want to ride on the horsey and kill the evil minions! EBGames.com says September. I hope they are telling the truth. *crosses fingers*

Played an insane amount of WoW yesterday - Inara is now a level 58! Almost everyone in our [livejournal.com profile] kneuroticknight guild signed on for a little bit. I think they've remedied most of our servers issues - at least, I didn't have any trouble signing on last night. *shrug*

the first round for challenge 2 of [livejournal.com profile] actress_lims is up. It's an all Natalie Portman challenge. She's making a weird face in the picture and her hair is very odd. I've cropped it the way I want...now to figure out what kind of textures or pretties I want to add.

Monday and Tuesday I have LATI at West County! Hopefully I'll be able to say hello to all my buddies at that branch. [livejournal.com profile] blu_harvest, I finished volume 3 of Alias last night. I really like this series! Vol 3 might be my favorite so far....mebbe. I started 4 this morning! Good stuff. Now to see if I can find Bendis' Daredevil run...

Speaking of good stuff, I randomly picked up my 'Strangers in Paradise' book yesteday while flying between Menethil and the Plaguelands. Got sucked right back into the story in about 3 seconds. I need to buy Vol 2 of that. I forgot about Francine and Katchoo and David. Oh, and Freddie, but he's a jerk so it's okay to forget him haha. OMG I just found the site to put the link there and it says there are only 10 more issues left in the series. Wow. I got some reading to do.

Tomorrow should be fun - it's the 'Great Books for Kids' conference in Baltimore and I get to go. :D It will be interesting to see how other librarians evaluate books for kids. I think the hardest part for me was to get my mindset to be like a childs (stop snickering, I can hear you!). What I mean is, I was reading some of the J-Fic and the YA books and getting annoyed because of one thing or another, and then I wasn't sure if it was because I wasn't the target demographic or just the book.

But anyway that is tomorrow.

I checked out the Liberty Meadows book from the library. I hadn't read that strip in FOREVER. the cartoonist, Frank Cho, is a maryland boy, so it was sort of a big deal when he was in the newspaper each week. But since I dont' get a newspaper now, I sort of forgot about how looney the strip is. He does draw hot ladies though, Brandy is pretty. Only one appearance of 'Frank the Chimp' in this book, so I ordered the next volume thru Marina (our inter-state loan system) in hopes of seeing Monkey Boy! haha. Goodtimes. From the look of his website, it sounds like he went from a weekly strip to comic book format. I should look for that when I'm at the store!

Speaking of comics, [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy made this cool little animated Penny Arcade strip for his MySpace page (yes, I am mocking him for pimpin' his 'Space). I stole it and put it in my userinfo because it's such a classic strip. I shall share it here because everyone likes to laugh with Gabe and Tycho!

let's go outside! )

I just found out I can wear jeans tomorrow to the Great Books conference. Sweeeeeet.

it's the little things.

relaxed fit, here I come!
orangerful: (wtf! // orangerful)
Note to strange man at the library - do NOT hit on the librarians. We do not think it's cute or sweet. You're not at the "little old man" stage yet where you can get away with it. You're at the creepy middle aged dude stage where I want to go and puke in the backroom after your comments. They were so original too! "I bet you get tired of people telling you how pretty you are?" "Can I buy you a beer?" "You're nobody's blank check!"

btw, WTF does that last one mean??? I think he might have been a little crazy. I should have told him that if he wanted to ogle younger women all day to get a MySpace account and leave me alone.
orangerful: (it got weird // orangerful)
Okay, usually I can figure out where my dreams came from - sometimes it's from watching too much TV, sometimes they are from playing video games, and sometimes they are just regular anxiety attacks. But last night...last night i had this really weird dream and I cannot for the life of me figure out where it originated!!!

In my dream, I try to flush the toilet, but it won't flush and I can tell that it's clogged, so I grab a plunger and start plunging and I feel the suction working and what comes out of the toilet?? a human ribcage with a heart still inside!!! In my dream, I got naseous and ran out of the bathroom, grabbed poor [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy and made him clean it up (which he did).

How did these bones get into my head?? Why did they get into my dreams? I'm very disturbed the this dream. not that i think it's a psychic premonition or anything, but just what was my brain doing last night!!!!

and in other news - I FINALLY ordered the new Whitlams album. I was waiting to order thru their official store but they were taking forever opening it up so I was like "whateva" and went to the HMV Australia website and ordered it there. Shipping will be silly but I can't get the blasted thing over here so it's worth the extra cash. I got the Limited Edition set which is in a "digipack"...and then I realized I'd heard that word many times and never knew what it meant. So I googled, ended up at Wikipedia and found out it pretty much means I'm paying for a prettier case and possibly some extra content, though the product description was vague. Now to start counting the days until it shows up....*puts an X on the calendar*

And I did get my haircut Wednesday! I went for a variation on this Veronica Mars cut. I had mine cut a bit shorter beause it grows so fast anyway. I'm actually quite happy with it! The hair styling lady showed me that I have the option to flip it under or out! It's like a transformer on my head!

wow, this is just sad. I didn't drink any soda today, instead with my lunch I had an iced tea. And my caffiene/sugar dependency kicked in at about 5pm. I felt dizzy, nasueas, and my eyes itched like crazy.

When I came home, I chugged a cherry coke, which helped me for a little while, but I'm coming back down now....

It's so pathetic. This is why I don't do drugs.

ack! I need to submit my entry to [livejournal.com profile] actor_lims but my brain is fried...this will most likely be the week I get voted out. No time to make a decent icon! Sleep I must.
orangerful: (sexlexia // snarkel)
I think I might want this. The star wars ladies are definatley one of my favorite things to collect. Plus, she can keep my Yoda company....

my boss at work was looking at buying a Mini, and I told her I thought they were really cool and I want one. She went to the dealership to check it out and grabbed their little promotional magazine. She left it on my desk this morning. TEMPTATION! I've been fondling it all day. Is it wrong that I really like the metallic orange?

Just to top it off, my car as been acting weird for awhile now - I think the brakes are pretty much shot and my gas tank seemed to empty faster than normal (usually I can go 300 miles before having to fill up...it's almost to E now and I just hit 200...weird). it's over 13 years old now, my little escort...

haha, mini is silly. I just went to the site to look at the cars and if you click on 'build your own convertible' it pops up this little gray window that looks like some sort of agreement, then you read it and it's like "do to the shortage of convertibles, we want you to promise that 90% of the time you will drive with the top down" and it goes on like that, describing what conditions you're allowed to have your top up. It's that quirky sense of humor that sucks me into their marketing...

okay, I know absolutely nothing about buying a new car though...time to go into research mode!

...actually, it's time for bed, but tomorrow, RESEARCH MODE!

So WTF is up with men and women's pant sizes? Who decided that guys get actual numbers that mean something and girls get arbitrary numbers?

I mean, I figure it's all a mental thing. Is it true that men's clothing rarely comes in a size "small" because no man wants to be told he is small? While women's sizes are labeled smaller because we like to be told we're tiny? So I figure they came up with these smaller numbers for women so we would be smaller. (this is a US thing though, as I noticed a few pants had "UK" stamped inside with a different size closer to what the men wear). Also, the men get specific measured lengths, while we get "short, regular, long". Which also means, at least to my understanding after talking with [livejournal.com profile] verdatum, [livejournal.com profile] zaubervz and [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy last night, that their pant sizes are more consistent. They are the size that they are, while my size fluctuates depending on what kind of store I'm in. Hechts I'm probably a 12, Kohls I'm usually a 14, retail stores in malls, usually a 14-16.

This also forces us to try stuff on, something I hate but have to do since each new store has a new size. Guys, not so much, they go in, get their size, walk out. I think, if that was the case for me anyway, I'd buy more if I could just go in and grab my sizes and leave.

HEAR THAT CORPORATE AMERICA!!!!! BE CONSISTENT AND I WILL BUY MORE!

*sigh*

In other news - Heath Bars are apparently not very popular in our Giant. I just bought one and it actually had dust on it...poor unloved Heath bar...come here, Sammie will make it aaaaaaaall better *eats*

[livejournal.com profile] simontrueheart gave me at least 2 reasons to brew your won coffee. Madness. Who knew that every time you drank Starbucks you were taking such a political stance?

Survived day II of my LATI training. Wasn't so bad. Lots of free goodies - today I got a pen that when you click on it, it gives you the different reference interview questions (Verify, Probe, yadda yadda). Day before we got 3 books; bird by bird, 2006 world almanac, and a book on blogging (*snerk* it's about Blogger though, so I scoff at it). Also got a smooshy brain. Seriously, it's one of those stress things, but in the shape of a brain with the LATI logo stamped on it. And we got this weird binder that are also boxes. So you can either put stuff on the rings or just toss it in and snap it shut.

We never actually got around to showing off our "found items". So poor Giles got no love :( Ah well, at least if the subject ever comes up again I can just grab him off the shelf.

[livejournal.com profile] gypsyjr will be happy to know I did watch the Doctor Who premiere on Sci-Fi channel. It was fun. I preferred the premiere to the second episode. second one got a little too sci-fi for my tastes hehe. I prefer him on earth and confused over Rose being confused. I do like the actors though.

And I broke down and used one of my days off for tomorrow (it was sad, I called to ask and they were like "do you want to use your personal days or annual leave?" and I was like "I don't know what that means yet haha". I need to sit down and figure out what it all means!). I just did not feel like going to work after two days of training. Especially since today was supposed to be my day off but I spent it at the training.

So yeah, we'll probably go see 'V for Vendetta' and I want to go shopping a bit for work pants. I don't think we've been to the mall in awhile...hasn't been anything out I wanted to see. And shock of shocks, the rotten tomatoes rating for V actually went up today! 75%! I like those odds. hehe.

Sims time!
orangerful: (vm o rly? // orangerful)
okay, I know I used this tutorial before to add a header to a free account before I went paid...but fo the life of me I can't remember how to get into the override code area they are talking about. I wanted to make [livejournal.com profile] simfamous all pretty! I even made it a banner really quick just so spruce it up! *le sigh* Guess that will have to wait until tomorrow.

I have so many books to read. 'Great Books' is the first week of April, and I still have 8 books to read by then. True, they are all J and YA novels, BUT that's still a lot of reading. Especially when every book I've requested from outside the state seems to be arriving. Yesterday it was 'Mystique vol 2 - tinker tailor mutant spy' by Brian K Vaughan. Today it was 'The Hood', also by BKV. And I looked at my account today and 'The Walking Dead' was in processing at headquarters!!! Inter-Library loan books usually can't be renewed since they come from far far away (Mystique was shipped in from Florida, The Hood somewhere called "Woodinville"...no joke). And it's hard not to read those because I've been waiting to read them for awhile now. I'm actually really shocked they found 'the hood' for me! It's out of print and I think it's one of BKV's first comic series...but lo and behold. There's a fanboy/girl somewhere out there stocking the shelves of the Woodinville library with quality graphic novels!

LATI starts tomorrow. I get to sleep in a whole 30 minutes! Ooooooh. No seriously, OOOOOOH! I like any bits of sleep I can get. It says we get a "continental" breakfast, but that can range from coffee and a donut to buffet style. Wonder what it will be. I'll probably have breakfast before I go anyway, juuuust in case it's nasty food. Plus, coffee, yuck. It also says lunch is included...again, hopefully it will be something yummy. I just hope my stomach doesn't start to growl. I have a very loud tummy, even when I'm not hungry, it starts growling.

I can't wait to show off Giles too. I'm so proud of myself for thinking of bringing that to "represent me". Think about it - he's a librarian (check for me too), he's an adult but he doesn't mind working with teens (check), he has a vast knowledge of some pop and classic culture (check), and he doesn't die at the end of the show (check!)

Plus, Sam + Toys = OTP.

Speaking of my preciouses, my firefly promo card came today!!! Unfortunately I have to wait until April 30th to get the rest. But I will have them! And the Veronica Mars cards! and the Young Indy cards! mmmm trading cards.

I just realized I'll be internet-less ALL DAY tomorrow!!!! *gasp* How...how will I survive!!! Even if I don't post every day, I read my flist every day and try to comment. Means I'll have a lot of catching up to do when I get home at 5pm.

Oh, and I'm thinking of getting a haircut, somewhere between Veronica Mars in the pilot episode hair and the new hair cut Storm has in the X3 trailer...course, Storms hair just looks cool because of the black/white coloring of it...and Veronica too has highlights I think. Though I still have random leftovers of my red hair...

yay or nay people? Yes, I know it's "teh flippy cut" yet again. Do you have any other hair suggestions? I like it short, but not Natalie Portman/V for Vendetta short. But it's season 2 Buffy length right now and I seriously just don't have the skillz to keep it looking decent. I've just been putting it in a ponytail to keep it outta my face. So any help and/or links to photos would be appreciated.

Leave me replies so I can read them when I come home tomorrow :-)

[livejournal.com profile] jimithingy got me the new Sims 2 add on for me so that is where I have been this week. I haven't actually started a business yet, but I think one of my families will tonight...but who!! I wonder if the kids on campus can start a dorm based business?

Watched the X3 trailer last night, "The Last Stand" is now the official title I guess? Either way, the trailer gave me goosebumps. I hope it's as good as the last two.

The new Whitlams album is slated to be released March 19th!!! Wish they had a silly preorder thing up on their site so I could just give them my money now since it will take weeks to get here from Australia. But they just re-launched their website for the album and the store isn't up yet. :( Aw well, you can listen to clips from the album though so that made me happy. No U.S. tour dates though...but that's not a big shocker. oooh, just found the music video section with the new single's video up....mmmm

[livejournal.com profile] jimithingy just did a quick run to the food mart and grabbed me a dr pepper and some sour cream and onion Lays potato chips which are sooo yummy. I'm also now addicted to Wawa's hoagies. They are far superior to Subway's. I can't explain it. I think the Subway bread is too dry. I can never go back now though. Not after Wawa opened my eyes!

I somehow survived another round of [livejournal.com profile] actor_lims! Though I was eliminated from my own lims challenge - [livejournal.com profile] chosen_lims, as I forgot to enter. Whoops! [livejournal.com profile] spitefairy tried to warn me but...again....Sims 2.

I also feel the need to figure out Podcasting...I feel like I should be in on that somehow, though I have no idea what I would talk about...plus, the whole music sitch is kinda tricky....ideas? comments?

and now, the Firefly promo card is available from Inkworks, so I must got address an envelope to myself so I can get that.

oh man oh man, what a day yesterday. Worked 9-5. Got there and I was talking on the desk with my boss and she's like "so when is your birthday?" and I said "uuuh, today." And everyone was like WHAT! WHY ARE YOU WORKING! haha. So I guess next year I'll take the gorram day off! Seriously, this birthday just snuck up on me. I was so spoiled for our anniversary and valentines day that I felt like my birthday needed to be further down the road!!! But anyway, it wasn't, it was yesterday. And [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy spoiled me as usual.

Yes, now I am officially a hard core collector. I have my very own Master Replica Force F/X Lightsaber!!! Anakin's to be exact. Well, Anakin/Luke, a lovely trilogies cross over. Oh my god, it is AWESOME!!!!! I can't really swing it around too much in the apartment, as I'll take down my other toys, but when I got outside (because it went with me to Perri & Alan's, that's how much I love it) and had a chance to swing it around....ooooooh felt soooo good. It's freakin' cool. especially in the dark, you can really see the blade as it lights up and..mmmmm

But, of course, that's not all I got. Oh no. I now have HARRY POTTER SCENE IT! I feel a party coming on!!! Perri also said she was going to hook me up with 'Goblet of Fire' as soon as that comes out (tuesday)!

Also got a 'box of Bean: the Complete Mr Bean series" Ooooooh yes, something to watch when TV fails us (which it does most every night now). Classic Bean. I adore this show. It will also probably lead to Bean icons....maybe.

I now have another Karaoke Revolution game, this one has some Britney Spears which should be fun to sing and make fun of haha. AND Fatal Frame II! Which I can only play on VERY sunny days. I'm scared of that game right now and I'm not even playing it. But its soooo cool.

And, what birthday would be complete without some action figures. I got the Hoth trooper, Leia in Bousch disguise and Carbonite Han from the most recent wave of 3 1/2" figures. AND the new galacitc heroes speeder bike with scout trooper. He's all dirty! You can never have too many troopers.

Aaaaand Bonus gift, [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy just reached over my shoulder and handed me a $15 iTunes card!!! oooooh what to buy what to buy!

Oh I am just so spoiled!! I'm going to go clean off the top of the TV now, as it's the most logical place to display my lightsaber. Plus, it will give me easy access in case any Sith show up with BBQ sauce.

Just got home from a very very yummy dinner at my parents. My mom asked what I wanted to eat and all I knew was I wanted mashed potatoes. So my mom made pork loin and I think a roast beef. Mmmmm was very very yummy. I love mashed potatoes and real gravy. Then we had coffee ice cream cake with chocolate icing. Mmmm. I had way too big of a slice but I dont' care!!!

[livejournal.com profile] zaubervz tried to hook me up with some cool ringtones, but sadly, the Veronica Mars theme is a little too powerful for my little phone speaker. I need to get just the intro from him instead of the chorus. I'm going to ask him for the Angel theme next, just the very beginning. How sweet would that be? Sitting at me desk and then 'Angel' comes on. hahha.

My parents bought me 'Mapping the World of Harry Potter' !!! It's one of the pop smart books from BenBella (they did my buffy, angel, and firefly books that I love) and this one is all about Harry, up to date thru the 6th book! Guess I know what I'm reading tonight. :)

They also bought me the Allen Sherman greatest hits CD, which is just chocked full of random childhood memories. He's like the original Weird Al - lots of goofy songs set to the tunes of more well known hits (well known if you were alive in the 50s but still!) I may become giddy later this week and post an mp3 or two, because they just make me giggle.

[livejournal.com profile] snarkel posted this on her blog - Jimmy Fallon RotS MTV awards sketch It's pretty amusing.

Okay, must sleep, 9-5 tomorrow then more madness ahead :)
orangerful: (party girl // orangerful)
It's Wezzles' birthday! Alexis Denisof is 40 today! Now if someone would just cast him in a freakin' movie so we could see him more often...

and holy crap my birthday is now less than a week away! WTF? Perri and Alan invited us over since Perri is one of my birthday buddies (Fishies Pisces rule!) But then I was thinking that my parents might want to do something, but we could always hang out sunday since I'm not working.

[livejournal.com profile] destertale and I had Chipotle for lunch yesterday...which means I'm having chipotle for lunch today too. For those of you not familiar with Chipotle burritos - they are about the size of your head. But so yummy. But if you attempt to eat a whole one in a sitting, you will die. Believe me, I did this once, and I know now to never EVER stuff that much food into my body at once again, no matter how delicious.

So now the touch decisions start - do I watch a buffy with commentary, start joss on screenwriting, watch one of the Farscape DVDs I borrowed, or an episode of 'coupling' which I just got from Netflix? Eenie meanie, minie, moe......
orangerful: (izzard cake or death // raelala)
wow, this week went by FAST! I swear it was only monday a minute ago. It's probably speeding by because I have a programming assignment due on March 6th - I have to write up a storytime program and then present a book and a fingerplay in front of about 30 other librarians. That should be nervewracking fun!

Just finished 'sex and the slayer' and I LOVED it! I might not have agreed with everything that was said, but it brought up lots of interesting points. And it was nice to see the guys picked at too, since most of the time the writers just focus on Buffy or Willow or Faith when they talk about the characters. I think she touched upon every main and a few minor characters in this book. Good stuff.

I started book 2 of 'Ex Machina' yesterday too. I just really love this series. I hope I can get away with ordering it for the library system. It's the tamest of all the graphic novels I've read and enjoyed. I want to order 'Y' but there's that dominatrix issue...hm...

I'm getting nit-picky about new comics that come in to our branch. For some reason, we just got two Spiderman books and both have been put under Children's Fiction, and as far as I can tell, they are just comic book TPBs. So, are they really J-Fiction (which means anywhere from 3rd-6th grade) or should they be Y or adult. Perhaps they think they will circulate more in J Fiction. I dunno. I did send the 'batman begins' comic back yesterday with a request to change it to Y or Adult since the movie was PG-13...seems like a novelizations, graphic or not, should at least by YA.

btw - I posted two reviews this week at [livejournal.com profile] novel_graphics; one of WE3 and another of Blankets. (I checked out issue one of 'Planetary' and also a swamp thing collection yesterday so hopefully I'll post something about them soon)

weekend plans etc.. )

So we had our programming meeting today at the library and I have sorta volunteered myself to do a Young Adult program in August - the theme? MySpace, blogging, and personal websites. So now I need to figure out exactly what I want to focus on. And I have to write a blurb for our library happenings...which is due March 1st. So, blurb first, program later!

I figure I'll focus on MySpace, since that's the hot thing right now, but also mention Livejournal, Xanga, MSN Spaces, and anything else? I want to give them tips on customization while sliding in some safety tips. Or something. I dunno. I might have bitten off more than I can chew. I just need to pick something to focus on. I was thinking about the whole personalizing component so I can plug the HTML books we have in the branch. But if any of you that are more familiar with MySpace have ideas, let me know! Is it just basic HTML that is used to edit backgrounds? I still haven't figure out how to do that. I also need to learn about the privacy features that are set up on there....

That was about it for today. I finished my "In Charge" training so now I can be in charge starting in March. Crazy, huh?

Aaaaaaand yeah. Tuesdays are long days. I am sleepy.
orangerful: (son of a bee sting // orangerful)
I forgot my claddagh/buffy ring today. I haven't done that in ages, but I was so tired and out of it this morning, I stumbled out of the apartment, running a bit late, and didn't realize until I got to work that I wasn't wearing it. I have this nervous/thinking habit of twirling it on my finger and sliding it off and on. And right now there is nothing on my hand, so I keep reaching for it to play with it and it's not there. :(

It's Presidents Day, and all of the government offices and public schools are closed. So everyone assumes we're closed, but we are not. So it's pretty slow right now.

I'm in a new music kind of mood. I just checked out a few more CDs from the library and on Friday I had a moment of weakness and did a random CD purchase. I don't usually do that anymore because I've been dissappointed to many times with lame albums plus I can usually get stuff from the library and preview it before I buy. But I felt like having a new CD, so I bought the new Corrs album which is actually their take on some traditional irish tunes, which should be cool. I like their sound but most of their latest stuff has been too bubble gum for me. We listened to the album once on Friday but it was while [livejournal.com profile] blu_harvest was over so I wasn't listening too closely and I didn't have very much of a weekend, since I worked both Sat and Sun and then we had the whole dinner thing. Probably why I am so tired.

Does anyone know who Jesse Harris is? I just found his CD in the collection and the name sounds very very familiar...

okay back to work!

Busy busy busy weekend. [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy's parents were in town, along with his friend Pierre, who was visiting from France. So I worked until 5 and then we'd hang out with them. Good food, but long days. And now back to work tomorrow morning!

Seriously do not have much to say haha. I think I'm going to go to bed early tonight. Hopefully our heat will stop doing weird things.

OH, [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy's cousin has a DS and she let me play NintenDogs. Man that is adorable. Though it's so silly. I mean, it's not really a game. It's more a really expensive giga-pet. But it's so cute! And the dogs have little personalities and stuff. It seems like you should just be able to leave it on all day and check on them every few minutes. But it helped me get over the jealousy caused by all the new puppy pictures posted by [livejournal.com profile] faeriesfolly.

More Joss induced giggling. Wonder Woman script must be due soon or something.

Had a wonderful Valentines Day. [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy had said he wasn't going to get me more than chocolates, but I came home to a bouquet of roses, a choxie heart full of dark chocolate meltaways, a little heart tin with Chewbacca on one side and Yoda on the other, a yoda action figure WITH yoda hologram figure (that has to be hard to find), 2 iPod excessories, AND SERENITY ON PSP!

I am so SO spoiled...have I mentioned that? I mean, seriously, it's a bit ridiculous. I cannot figure out where I went so right...perhaps it was in my previous life....maybe I was mother theresa...no wait, she was alive when I was alive....uuuuh...

Someone from high school found me on MySpace. made me do a double take when I opened up my "new messages" thing, as I was expecting it to be one of my co-workers that I had harassed over the weekend, and there was a friend from 7 (?) years ago. haha. At least it was someone I liked...what do I do when the annoying people that I could never stand start messaging me?

and last night, when I should have been going to bed, I made pretty banners - wanna see?

I'd laugh...if I wasn't slightly interested.

ToyFair started this week too, RebelScum has photos of the event here

[livejournal.com profile] faeriesfolly pointed this lovely site out to me the other day - it's a Harry Potter quote index! A fun time waster if ever I saw one.

both [livejournal.com profile] toothlesshag and [livejournal.com profile] zaubervz got out of work/school tomorrow because of the snow piled up outside. So far, no word from the library. I was hoping for at least a delayed opening/start time since it's probably all going to freeze up overnight.

Last night, we lost power around 2am. I was all snuggled into bed, playing one last round of Lumines and them that lovely powering down sound, so I had to hop out of bed and help [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy shut down all the electronics before they got zapped. Which, it turns out, wasn't too big of an issue as the power pretty much stayed off until about 10am this morning. It was so very cold. Also, neither of us got much sleep because we are so used to having all these random noises - a fan, the heat, the computers humming, the dishwasher - so much white noise and suddenly silence. [livejournal.com profile] jimithingy told me that I breathe very loudly, ala Val Kilmer.

So, I went to update my MySpace page today because it's hip for the kids. Actually, whats really funny is that all these people at work half a MySpace - half because they are part of the online generation and the other half because they are parents trying to figure out the online generation. Anyway, I still do not understand the attraction to MySpace. Everytime I log on, it gives me error messages and "cannot find" and i know full well it's right there. I thought it might be Firefox but [livejournal.com profile] dstntp1lgr1m said that's what he uses and if it caused that much trouble for him, why keep doing it. Maybe my computer just rejects MySpace. Which is fine because livejournal is just so much better. A million times. I mean, I attempted to read the blogs page on MySpace and it was just icky to look at. Yes, I am a broken records - MySpace is lame, yes of course I have one, please be my friend, then get a livejournal.....

updated my graphic novel read/ing list which probably means i should post something to [livejournal.com profile] novel_graphics!

And don't forget about the oh-so-fun personality meme!
